Wholly misleading half truth: Capitalism causes hunger

Technically speaking this is true, Capitalism does not compel people to feed the hungry. It just gives people an incentive to produce extra food, which tends to get to the hungry because that is more profitable than letting it rot.

However, empirically speaking most famines in the modern world came from non-Capitalistic systems. Capitalism leads to higher food production.

  1. Yes, to cure people of this infantile mentality that capitalism is bad, I would suggest that they take a hard look at any larger, “industrialized” society that does not use it. North Korea, for example. Or Cuba.

    • Communism looks great on paper. The problem is we have too many people who think the world acts like the theory when it doesn’t. Those people also cause problems in restaurants by eating menus.
